Inspired by feminist art and the beauty of Mexico, Dior designer Maria Grazia Chiuri created a runway in the heart of Mexico City. Staged at the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso, where famed artist Frida Kahlo studied, the collection featured the artistry of the region. And, of course, it also paid homage to Kahlo herself.
Seen on a full-bodied skirt, it’s easy to imagine a Book Tote or Lady D-lite in this fabrication.
Beyond Book Totes and Saddle Bags, Dior presented other options, if not entirely new. Seen were open top totes and bucket bags, some carried by handles others by shoulder strap. It’s unclear whether a singular bag has both options, or if you must choose. And naturally, there were ladylike styles such as the ever-popular Lady Dior.
While many of the bags are bright and colorful, anyone looking for more subdued hues will be satisfied. Indeed, many of the ensembles were black and/or white. Take a look below at some of the other bags spied on Dior’s Cruise 2024 Runway. And, of course, let us know which, if, any will be on your wishlists. And then, there’s the one that we can’t quite figure out. Could it be a butterfly-shaped bag. We’ll keep you posted as clearer images emerge.
